FM27: transfer a player to another club

To transfer a player to another club in FM27, open his profile in MacLibero RT and click the transfer button. You pick the destination club and the fee, confirm, and Football Manager 27 itself runs the transfer: new contract, squads, balance and budget debited, news in the game. One warning: a transfer cannot be undone.

Signing a player without weeks of haggling, or sending an unwanted player to one specific club: in FM 27, bids can drag on or fall through. MacLibero RT, the native Mac app that reads and edits your single-player FM 27 save, asks the game to complete the transfer right away, under its own rules.

How do you transfer a player in FM27?

  1. Open MacLibero RT, click “Launch FM 27”, load your save, then click “Refresh from game” (⌘R).
  2. In FM 27, stay on a static screen: not while the game is continuing, and not during a match.
  3. Open the player's profile and click the transfer button. A sheet opens with his name and his current club.
  4. On the left, search for the destination club and select it. Each row shows the club's country and transfer budget.
  5. On the right, enter the fee. If your own club is buying, you can tick the box that lets the game set the price.
  6. Click the transfer button at the bottom, read the confirmation, then confirm.

The confirmation repeats the fee (or says the price is calculated by the game) and ends by saying the transfer cannot be undone. Until you confirm, nothing is sent: “Cancel” closes the sheet and leaves the game untouched.

What does the game do during the transfer?

MacLibero RT does not move the player by rewriting values one by one. It calls FM 27's own immediate-transfer function, the one the game uses itself. So the game does everything it would do for a normal transfer:

  • the player leaves his club's squad and joins the destination club's squad;
  • a new contract is signed with his new club;
  • the fee comes out of the buying club's balance and transfer budget;
  • the move goes into the player's history, the news reports it and the board reacts.

When it is done, the app tells you the player has joined his new club. Open his profile in FM 27 to see his new contract. The app's Transfers window shows the move too: see FM27 player career history and transfers.

Buy for your club or sell to another one?

Both work, either way. If your club is buying, you can enter a fee or let the game work out the price. If another club is buying, you set the fee (zero included): the game then checks that club's budget and the amount, and it may refuse. The app warns you first: if the fee is above the chosen club's transfer budget, it says so under the field.

In our test, PSG signed a Brest player: squads, contract, balance, budget, news and the board's reaction all followed, and it held after 7 days of play, a save and a reload. A sale to Juventus for zero went through as well. On the other hand, Lorient did not have the budget for a £50M bid: the game refused cleanly, and nothing changed.

A male player can only join a men's club and a female player a women's club: the list only offers clubs that fit.

Why can't an FM27 transfer be undone?

MacLibero RT's other edits change one precise value and keep the old one, which is what lets you undo them from History. A transfer is done by the game: it creates a contract, changes two squads, touches two clubs' finances, writes history and publishes news. There is no single old value to put back, and unpicking all that by hand could damage your save.

Before you transfer, save your game, and keep a copy of any save you care about. To go back, reload the save from before the transfer. Single-player saves only.

Which Macs and which FM 27 version?

The transfer calls a function inside the game directly, so it is tied to one exact version: it only works on an Apple Silicon Mac and on the current FM 27 build (27.0.0, build 2486716). On an Intel Mac or another game build, the app refuses clearly instead of trying anything.

What you need

MacLibero RT's scouting is free. Transferring a player writes to the game, so it needs a licence: €6.99 once for FM27, on up to 3 Macs (see pricing and the FM27 Mac editor comparison). To keep a player rather than sell him, you can also change a player's contract in FM27: wage, expiry, clauses.

Questions

Can you transfer a player to another club in FM27?

Yes, with MacLibero RT on an Apple Silicon Mac: the transfer button on the player profile opens a sheet where you pick the destination club and the fee. FM 27 runs the transfer itself: contract, squads, finances and history.

Does the buying club pay the fee?

Yes. The fee comes out of the buying club's balance and transfer budget, inside the game. If that club cannot afford it, the game refuses and nothing changes.

Can you undo a transfer?

No. Unlike other edits, a transfer cannot be undone from History. Save your game first; to go back, reload that save.

Does the transfer stick after saving?

Yes. In our test, the transfer held after 7 days of play, a save and a reload: it is a real in-game transfer, with news and a board reaction.

Why does the app refuse the transfer on my Mac?

The feature only works on Apple Silicon Macs and on the current FM 27 build (27.0.0, build 2486716). Otherwise the app refuses clearly rather than risk your save.
